CMTS 2013

CMTS is Canada’s largest manufacturing event for buyers and sellers to come-together under one roof to evaluate new products and solutions and learn about hot topics currently impacting the industry.

Rogers Preferred Converter

rogers-corp-logoSeal and Design has been awarded Preferred Converter status with Rogers Corp. Rogers Corporation Manufactures Poron and Bisco foam products.

Poron Microcellular Urethane foams offer a broad range of design solutions for gasketing, sealing and energy absorption. Low compression set and low outgassing features make these foams ideal for applications in communications, automotive, electronic, and other industrial devices.  The Bisco line of cellular silicone foam features the resistance to extreme temperatures and resilience required in many types of sealing, cushioning, insulation and vibration isolation applications. These materials are available in six different varieties, from ultra soft to extra firm.

Bonded Seals

bonded-sealsBonded Seals are seals that are used to seal off potential leak paths on the shoulder of fasteners – such as bolts.  Seal & Design’s bonded seals are designed so that after tightening down the fastener in the assembly, the rubber of the seal will be compressed to the predetermined amount which will cause it to seal the clearance gap between the fastener and the mating components. Bonded Seals are intended to take the place of an o-ring in certain assemblies.

By using a Bonded Seal there is no need to have an o-ring groove machined into the component that the fastener will pass through. Simriz FFKM

With Simriz® Perfluorelastomers,  Process Seals offers the processing industry the High-End solution in materials technology for sophisticated applications regarding media and temperature stability.

Simriz® features wide chemical stability, similar to that of PTFE, combined with the rubbery properties of an elastomer. Specially for the processing industry, Simriz® makes a complete product range of high class FFKM material available which set new standards regarding operational safety and durability. Apart from the Simriz® compounds for standard and high temperature applications, FDA and USP Class VI compliant versions are available which are optimally designed for use in food and beverage and pharmaceutical production.

General properties:

  • Universal stability like PTFE with the elastic advantages of an elastomer
  • High reliability for static and dynamic applications
  • Extremely high stability in aggressive media
  • Highly stable when used in polar and non-polar media, even at high concentration and temperature
  • Temperature range from -10 °C to +325 °C (Special types)
  • Reliable properties even with frequent temperature changes
