COVID-19 Statement

SD-COVID-19 -Statement-2020-03-20 [PDF]

To Our Valued Customers and Partners,

In response to the COVID-19 Coronavirus, on March 20, 2020, a New York State executive order mandated that 100% workforce of non-essential businesses must stay home.  Since Seal & Design Inc. plays a critical role in the supply of materials and parts used in the global response to the COVID-19 outbreak for the energy & power generation industry, food and beverage processing, medical device industry, emergency vehicle lighting, oxygen concentrator machines and many others, we have an obligation to remain open and will be considered an essential manufacturer and distributor.

Our priority is first and foremost to protect the health and safety of our team & their families as well as our customers & supply partners.  Our shop personnel who are working on-site are practicing safe social distancing and other precautionary measures consistent with guidelines established by the CDC and WHO. We are also reducing the density of shop personnel through multiple shifts and directing them to focus solely on supporting those businesses that have also been deemed “Essential”, as described by New York State Executive Order 202.6.

What else is Seal & Design doing?

  • Our entire Sales, Engineering, Support, and Administrative staff will be working remotely, and has the information & technology at hand to assist with whatever it is that you need
  • Seal & Design has put in place a plant-wide cleaning protocol where we are cleaning four times per shift

Advantages of using PTFE include:

  • Not affected to most chemicals.
  • Can be used at temperatures up to 500°F (260°C).
  • The lowest coefficient of friction of any solid material.

Spiral Wound Gaskets in the Power Generation Industry

PowerGen
In today’s changing landscape, there are more options than ever in the power generation industry; from natural gas, fossil fuels, coal, and nuclear to renewable methods such as hydroelectric, wind, solar, and biomass.

To withstand the extreme temperatures and conditions of these applications, manufacturers depend on durable gaskets and sealing solutions.

The gaskets used throughout these plants must be able to handle a range of operating conditions and pressures in order to evenly distribute power across long distances.

Reliable gasket solutions allow companies to easily meet the needs of the communities they serve while staying ahead of the curve in power generation trends.

Spiralwound Gaskets: High-Performance Technology

seals-metallicSeal & Design’s Spiral Wound Gaskets (SWG) are manufactured according to ASME B16.20 standards with quality assurance to comply with API specifications Q1 and ISO 9001:2008.

These gaskets are crafted with a combination of various smart materials: a preformed metal strip alternates with a more compressible, soft filler material, allowing for a highly responsive and extremely tight seal.
