Seal & Design is a leading supplier of Viton® O-rings and custom molded seals. We offer both genuine Viton® and standard fluorocarbon materials for general purpose and high performance applications. Selecting the type of Viton® that best fits your application is important, but it isn’t complicated, and help is available from Seal & Design.  We also offer gaskets out of Viton®

We’ve created a list of compounds available on our website with spec sheets for each material. Please contact Seal & Design for technical help in your selection of Viton®, or any other seal material.

Spring Energized Teflon Seals

Seal & Design offers a full line of spring energized Teflon seals which are used in rod, piston, face and rotary sealing applications. These seals are typically used in areas where elastomeric seals cannot meet the frictional, temperature, or chemical resistance requirements of the application.

Utilizing a variety of jacket profiles, PTFE compounds, spring types, and lip configurations, these seals can be designed to meet the requirements of the most demanding seal environments.  Contact Seal & Design to review your application needs and discuss how we can help.

Viton Material for O-Rings, Molded Rubber, and Gaskets

Viton® fluoroelastomer is well known for its excellent resistance to aggressive fuels and chemicals, high heat (400°F/200°C), abrasions and cuts. Viton® also offers superb mechanical properties and can meet many performance specifications. Particularly valued for its excellent heat stability and resistance to aggressive fuels and chemicals, Viton® is the most specified fluoroelastomer for fuel system seals and hoses, O-rings, shaft seals, expansion joints and gaskets.

Viton® rubber is good for a broad spectrum of applications in the automotive, chemical processing and industrial markets, including: Chemical resistant gaskets and Viton® seals, High temperature Viton® gaskets, Viton® o-ring, and Lathe-cut Viton® gaskets and seals.

Please contact Seal & Design to discuss your application needs and how Viton material and seals can benefit your application.

Viton & Buna Quad Rings

Quad Rings

Quad Ring Seals are four lipped seals with a specially developed sealing profile. A wide range of elastomer materials for both standard and special applications allows practically all liquid and gaseous media to be sealed.

Advantage:

Quad Rings/X-Rings have the following advantages compared to an Oring:

  • Avoids twisting in the groove. Due to its special profile, the seal does not tend to roll in the groove during reciprocating movement.
  • Low friction.
  • Very good sealing efficiency. Due to an improved pressure profile over Quad Ring Seal cross-section, a high sealing effect is achieved.
  • A lubricant reservoir formed between the sealing lips improves start up.
  • Unlike an O-Ring, the mold line flash lies in the trough, between and away from the critical sealing lips.
